Appointments with Miss Smith

If you wish to see Miss Smith you can make an appointment via Tina at Reception.  Please use this system for non-urgent matters.  Don’t forget you can also talk to Mrs Oliver / Mr Freeman or your Tutor.


If you are ill or unable to attend school you must ring the Sixth Form Centre on 01243 832545 before 9am each day you are absent and leave a message. If you are absent from school or know you will be absent please complete a yellow absence form available from Sixth Form Centre Reception.  Holidays in school time will not be authorised.

Lockers are available for students to hire in the Sixth Form Centre.  There is a £5 deposit for the key.  Please see Tina at Reception.


Stagecoach bus travel for 16-21 year olds

The West Sussex Uni Rider termly bus ticket for Sixth Form students is available to buy from Stagecoach (click on link for further info).  It can be used 7 days a week and is cheaper than a weekly ticket.  ID is required when using the card

Sussex Student Card

The Sussex Student Card is free for Sixth Form students and entitles holders to discounted train travel and can also be used as ID in some circumstances.  The application form can be downloaded from the West Sussex County Council website (click on link for further info).  A photo and school signature is required.  Please note applications can take up to 4 weeks to process, especially at busy times of the year i.e. the start of the new school year.  All enquiries should be made directly to West Sussex County Council


Taster Courses

Mrs Oliver has details of taster courses being  held at Nottingham University in December, in the following subjects:

Law, Dentistry, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine,  Psychology, Physiotherapy and Chemistry.

Youthforce offer young people apprenticeships in the Education sector. Including the following roles:

  • Teaching Assistant Apprentice
  • Laboratory & Science Technician Apprentice
  • Business Administration

University Courses is an excellent resource if you want to try a taster of a possible University course for free over a short time period.  From Forensics to International Relations or even finding out more about skills required for Uni, have a look at the website to see what they offer. All of the courses have been written in conjunction with major Universities and are fully endorsed by them so it will look great on your UCAS form.
