How to apply

We welcome applications from external students as well as those who have attended CHS.

Each year around 10-15% of our sixth form students join us from other schools, both locally and outside the county. Recently we have also welcomed students from Germany who study with us for one or two terms as part of their post 16 education.

For internal students, the application process begins with the Sixth Form open evening where all subject areas are represented and staff are available to talk about what is involved in their subject at A Level. This is followed up in the Spring Term by an interview with a member of the Sixth Form team, can advise students on the correct combination of subject choices.

External students are very welcome to arrange a visit to see the school in action. They will also be interviewed so that subject choices can be made. This happens throughout the year as we often have students moving into the area at different times.

During the summer term, we run taster sessions for all prospective students to learn more about new subjects they have chosen. Students will then be interviewed again on or just after results day in August to confirm their choices and that all entry requirements have been met.
