Meet the SLT

Mr Alaric Govan - Headteacher

Alaric govan sml picThis is my 27th year in Education, all but five weeks of it spent in Hampshire schools. Over this time period, I have worked in various schools as an English teacher, Head of Department, Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and finally as a Headteacher for the past four and a bit years.

I have lived in West Sussex for the past 17 years and Chichester High School is somewhere I have always wanted to work. When I saw the advert back in June of last year, I knew that this was too good an opportunity to miss.

I believe in high standards of behaviour and achievement (both inside and outside of the classroom), but I also think it’s important to provide high levels of support too.

During the seven-year journey in secondary education, students will grow from children, through the teenage years, and finally into young adults.
