Sixty-Eight cadets were on parade and had been excused from normal lessons for the day. The Colonel met them during a formal parade.

Cadets begin their training with the Contingent at the start of Year 9 and progress during the rest of their time at the school and so, as the Colonel reviewed each section, he went from speaking to cadets who had been with the Contingent for four years to cadets who had been there for four parades.

The rest of the day was given over to some excellent drill displays by some of the older cadets who also ran a number of practical activities stands for their younger colleagues. An air rifle range was set up on the sports field by the Brigade's Cadet Training Team to enable cadets to practice live firing, using their weapon handling skills.

The day's training finished witCcf inspection 1410 205h another parade and Colonel MacPherson addressed our cadets and congratulated them on all of their efforts during the day, encouraging them to continue with their cadet training.

He then presented a commemorative CCF plaque to Sqn Ldr (Ret'd) Ray Carter to acknowledge his years of dedicated service to the Contingent.

Everyone, cadets and adults, had worked hard to make the day a success and that is exactly what it turned out to be. An excellent day for the school's CCF contingent.
