Meet the SLT

Mrs Joanne McKeown - Headteacher

Jo Mckeown

I feel very privileged to be Headteacher here at Chichester High School. I have been a part of this community for the last 16 years and leading the school at this exciting time is a real joy.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Philosophy and the Study of Religions, PGCE and NPQH and have enjoyed several senior roles at the Chichester High Schools over the past 16 years, including Head of Humanities, Head of Sixth Form and Head of School.

Prior to working in Chichester, I worked as a Head of Department in a Portsmouth School after gaining my QTS and working at a large High School in Dorset for my first couple of years teaching. Prior to my teaching career, I did have the opportunity to work as Cabin Crew, gaining some invaluable life skills, and of course, travelling the world!

Working closely with our pupils so that each individual achieves their best and ensuring that every member of our community leaves a positive legacy is central to my educational values. Education is about supporting our young people to become positive members of our local, national, and international communities. All of our pupils absolutely deserve the very best experience at School, both inside and outside the classroom and we are dedicated to providing that here at Chichester High School.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible throughout the year at our many different events.
