Headteacher Update 15.12.23

Alaric govan sml picWeek 15: “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” – Charles Dickens

It’s the end of another long and busy term. It has been a really positive end to the year, with the whole-school production and a succession of assemblies to celebrate the overwhelming majority of students who work so hard for themselves and others.

Last week, I had the pleasure of watching our whole-school production ‘Legally Blonde’. There were lots of really proud parents and carers watching, as well as a lot of school staff and students who came to watch the two performances. Although I’m used to standing up in front of large audiences, I always think it takes a particular confidence to perform in front of a lot of people. The fact that so many of our students are prepared to act, sing and dance like this is one of the things that makes Chichester High School such a special place to work.

We are very fortunate to have a stable staff, with a balance of new and established staff across the whole school. Sadly, we are saying goodbye to Mr Aydin, Mrs Gouldbourne-Birkenshaw, Miss Chakarto and Mr Kettle. All of these will be much missed and we wish them well in the next stage of their careers.

I am sure that your children are all looking forward to the holidays and I know that staff are too. The first day back for children is Wednesday 3rd January 2024, and I look forward to seeing them all returning well-rested. Thank you for all of your continued support of the school and have a wonderful Christmas holiday.
