CHS Remembrance 2023

101116 chs remembrance service 39Mr Govan led the service with a poignant speech about the importance of Remembrance.

This was followed by CHS student Mai Lei Connor reading ‘In Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae and Ishan Dutta reading ‘We Shall Keep The Faith’ by Moira Michael.

The names of our fallen Chichester High School students, featured on our school memorial plaque, were read out by students Andreea Gabor, Raluca Gherman and Leo Peters, highlighting those former students who had made the ultimate sacrifice for us all during the Second World War .

The story of former student Ellen May Grainger – ‘One of our Own’ was read by Isabelle Woodard and Nancy Smith.

The School Combined Cadet Force led the way as CCF cadet Amy Chegwidden-Phillips laid a wreath on behalf of the School during the assembly.

At 11am, Mr Govan laid a wreath at the outside memorial area we have at CHS.
