Storm Ciaran updates

Storm Ciaran

Dear parents/carers,

At the time of writing, the weather warnings have not been elevated to red for wind; the forecast for rain remains at yellow. Therefore, the school will remain open as usual. Other local Chichester schools are also remaining open.

We will continue to monitor the forecast throughout the night and this decision may change if the weather worsens.

If we decide to close the school, a text will be sent to all parents/ carers by about 6am tomorrow morning. We will also put a notice on the school website and notices on our usual social media platforms.

In the event that the school is closed, work will be set on ClassCharts and we will aim to have this in place by 9am. Teaching staff will monitor ClassCharts throughout the school day to offer guidance to any students that need it. The phone lines will be closed.

If the school remains open, we will put a notice on the school website at around 6am tomorrow morning and will update our social media. A text will not be sent if the school remains open.

I realise that this uncertainty is not helpful. Please rest assured, that we are in constant communication with West Sussex and other local schools and will make a decision that is in the best interests of children, staff, and families.
