Year 7 Dance group
We took two groups to perform at the annual Dance House event at the Alexandra Theatre, Bognor Regis.
We set off at lunchtime for the afternoon technical rehearsals with a Year 7 boys dance group set up through PE lessons and a Year 8 girl’s dance group who have been attending dance club every week since September.
The boys performed a jazz style piece titled 'Happy', originating from emotions and feelings based around stereotypes of boys in dance.
The girls had developed their own piece of contemporary choreography in after school sessions titled 'Carcrash', a piece highlighting the impact that a moments distraction on a mobile phone can have.
The students then performed in front of family and friends for the evening show, which displayed work from several local secondary schools, and youth dance groups.
All the students performed brilliantly and received great applause from the audience.
The largest cheer of the night was reserved for the boys, who were the one and only male performers!
We were extremely proud of them all and they fully deserved their medals for representing the High School so well.
