ChiRocks at Chi Uni

Last week, prospective Year 9 music students went to the University of Chichester to participate in their annual ChiRocks.

‘ChiRocks’ is an intensive workshop-based project where the students work with students from other schools,as well as the university, to form their own song writing company.

They attended lectures on song writing, marketing and business strategy and then used these new skills to work together to compose their own songs and create marketing and merchandise campaigns, leading up to their final Showcase where the students performed live on stage in the Students’ Union. 

The students worked completely independently with the ChiRocks Ambassadors from start to finish. Seeing them perform their own work live at the final Showcase was incredible. I felt so proud of all of them and everything they had achieved. They also formed some great new friendships with the other students in their groups and their chemistry and energy on stage really added to their performances.

What a a great introduction to their KS4 Music course.
