ARETE Outdoor Centre

ARETE Outdoor Centre March 2024 6th Form (9)

We took a group of Sixth Form students to the ARETE Outdoor Centre in Llanrug, Caernarfon, North Wales for a weekend trip. The journey to the centre was beautiful, with stunning scenery as we approached the mountains. We arrived safely and went straight out for some rock climbing and orienteering in the lovely afternoon sunshine. In the evening, we continued orientating, wearing wellies!

The weekend was filled with adventures, glorious sunshine, and challenging journeys up Tyrfan mountain, through pitch-black slate mines, waterfalls, and orienteering. The students were fantastic and overcame fears and problem-solved their way out of difficult situations. They climbed mountains that were over 900 metres high, got very wet in the ice-cold spring sea water and enjoyed an evening bonfire.

We want to congratulate all the students who attended for their hard work and bravery. A huge thank you to the staff who made the weekend possible and enjoyed it with them!
