The 1st #YouthInvestmentFund new build youth centre opened its doors in Chichester today!

Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer MP Department for Culture, Media and Sport marked the special occasion by joining young people & cutting the ribbon at the Chichester Shed Chichester CDT.

During the visit the Culture Secretary got to meet young people and youth workers and experience lots of the activities on offer including skateboarding, music skills, gardening, and yoga.

Young people shared why having a dedicated space to call their own is so vital and showed the Culture Secretary some of the ways the Shed is helping them to have fun, get creative, learn new life skills, and improve their wellbeing.

The #YouthInvestmentFund is funded by Department for Culture, Media and Sport and delivered by Social Invest in partnership with Key Fund, National Youth Agency and Resonance.

Congratulations to CHS students Charlie and Mia who were part of the group celebrating the opening ceremony of the Shed for Youth by the Chichester community Development Trust.

Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer officially opened the building on Saturday 3rd February.

Charlie and Mia were also on BBC Sussex radio talking about how they would benefit whilst at the event on Thursday last week.
