'Amazing Book Award' (ABA)

Mrs Mulkern and Mrs Angus were lucky enough to take a lovely group of students from Year 8 and 9 book clubs to the 'Amazing Book Award' (ABA) celebration evening on Friday 18th June hosted by Worthing High School.

The students were treated to an exciting evening organised by the ABA team and were offered the opportunity to buy books, meet authors and hear them speak as well as getting their books signed.

We were very proud because Hazel Swain a year 8 student was chosen to introduce the author S.M Wilson.

The five shortlisted books (all of which would make fantastic summer holiday reads!) were Moonrise by Sarah Crossan, Orphan Monster Spy by Matt Killeen, The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James, The Extinction Trials by S.M Wilson and S.T.A.G.S by M.A. Bennett.

 

The gold medal was awarded to S.T.A.G.S, silver to The Loneliest Girl in the Universe and the bronze to Orphan Monster Spy.
