Assembly time

I’d like to introduce myself to those of you I am yet to meet.

My name is Mrs Procter and I am responsible for social science subjects at Chichester High School.

These include SMSC, Citizenship, Sociology and Psychology.

Social science research has clearly shown how crucial our connections with other people are, both for our physical and mental health.

Whilst we are unable to come together as a community, it is important that Chichester High School remains connected; that you remember that you are part of a supportive network of people and you are not alone.

In an effort to help maintain this sense of belonging, we will be creating whole school assemblies to be shared with all students every Monday morning at 9am.

If you are able to watch at 9am, please do.  If it works best for your family’s routine to watch later in the day, that is fine also. The key point is that all students, across the school, will be watching the same assembly.

Cramming into the assembly hall was one of the regular ways of physically bringing us all together. Everyone sitting down to watch the online assembly on a Monday morning is the virtual equivalent.

You could always call your friends after assembly and discuss the topics/content together. You may also feel that some of the topics inspire you to create your own presentation, poster or piece of art.

If you do decide to create something, please do share with us by emailing a picture/copy to me here

Looking forward to (virtually) seeing you all every Monday.

All the best, Mrs Procter.
