British Science Week 2023

As part of British Science Week 2023, students at Chichester High School were given insights into different careers in the NHS.

Selected students in year 10 attended a virtual event to hear about some of the 350+ careers available within the NHS. These included a Biomedical Scientist, a Speech and Language Therapist, a Radiographer and Creative therapist. These specialists explained how they embarked on their chosen career and what they could expect day to day.

As well as the NHS event, some of our students also took part in a virtual medicine conference organised by Oxford High School. The aim of the conference was to provide students with more information on how to apply to university, prepare for pre-admission tests and by listening to a range of professionals with the field of medicine, biomedical sciences and veterinary medicine.

I really enjoyed the virtual medicine conference, and found it useful to learn about different aspects of application to university. It was also very interesting to hear talks from a range of doctors and scientists, as well as from medical students who answered our questions.' Eva, Year 10
