Year 11 PPEs

Dear parents/carers

Please congratulate your son/daughter for their positive attitude to learning so far this term; they have been a pleasure to teach and support through their learning in and outside of the classroom.  Thank you for your support in ensuring they are in the correct school uniform and arrive at school on time. Please also remind them to check in with Mr Faulkner, or me to ask any questions about their forthcoming exams or to address any concerns they have.

Our final set of PPEs (Pre-Public examinations) begin on Monday 20th February. Individual exam timetables will be given to your son/daughter on Friday 27th January and the full PPE timetable will be posted on our website.

Students are being fully prepared for their exams in their lessons but they can also find revision support set through google classroom. Their tutors will also be going through a revision techniques booklet with them this week. Weekly homework is also being set to support their revision. Students can email or class chart message their subject teachers directly for any further support they may need in the lead up to their PPEs.

In the run up to the exams, assemblies and tutor time on Mondays and Fridays will be focused around our student’s well-being –ensuring a healthy balance between revision and positive mental and physical health. However, I understand that many students worry a great deal about exams so keep in touch with us to let us know if you are concerned about your child. You can message us through ClassCharts or email.

Here is a link to a booklet that you may find useful to support your child’s mental health through the exam.

Exam stress

We continue to run extra lessons for core subjects at the start of our school day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am to 9.45am and after school intervention for option subjects. The after-school sessions are well attended so please do encourage your child to come along for help with their revision or to seek help with any areas of the curriculum they are worried about.

I very much appreciate all your support. Please be reassured that Mr Faulkner and I will look after our year 11s through their PPEs.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Lewry - Deputy Headteacher

Mr Faulkner - Head of Year 11
