** IMPORTANT ** from Mrs McKeown

17 March 2021

Dear Parent/Carer

You will be aware that I have written to you this week about some positive Covid cases in our school. Unfortunately, there have been further cases and a number of pupils have been asked to self-isolate for ten days but a substantial amount of staff have to likewise.

To ensure a safe, positive and meaningful learning environment this means I need to ask Year 9 (excluding ARC students) to work from home on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th March. Work will be set remotely using Classcharts,

Our testing schedule for Year 9 will go ahead on Friday when pupils can have their 3rd and final in school test and collect their home testing kit.

The schedule will be as follows:

9.00-9.30

9AMk+9BHa

9.30-10.15

9CRe+9DRo

10.15-10.45

9FHa+9GMk

10.45-11.15

9HRe+9JRo

11.20-11.45

11.45-12.15

9EHa

All students should be in full uniform, wearing a face mask, and if they have one, bring a mobile phone.  They will enter through the Kingsham Gym, as before, at their allotted time and will then go home.

This is the last thing I have wanted to do, to any year group. However, I must ensure our school remains safe and the levels of staffing I am left with means this would not be possible. A further update on the remote learning will be set first thing tomorrow and a further letter from me.

Thank you for your continued support during these difficult times.

Yours faithfully

Joanne McKeown
