National Careers Week 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

I am writing to introduce myself as the Careers Lead (and Head of Business) at Chichester High School.  My remit includes ensuring that our pupils from Year 7 to 6th form receive good advice and career guidance for success beyond school.

I am also writing to inform you that all students have the opportunity to participate (online) in the UK- wide National Careers Week programme from the 1st to 5th March 2021.
The aim of this year’s virtual National Careers Week is to support students with their plans and aspirations for their future and we thought this would be a good opportunity to link resources with parents as well.

Students in Years 7-13 are encouraged to develop an awareness and understanding of the importance of career planning such as self-awareness (where am I now?), career exploration (where do I want to be in the future?), career management (how do I get there?) and apply them to their stage of secondary education.

We would like you and your child to explore the different careers under the relevant links on the school website, for example if you are interested in the environment then you would click on the link to ‘Land Management and Animal Care’.  We hope you find it fascinating to look at possible future careers.

Throughout the school year, we are always grateful for any parent support for our Careers programme.  If you would like to be involved, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Yours sincerely

Ms M Faulkner email
Head of Business and Careers Lead
