End of term

13th December 2019

Dear Parent/Carer

The end of term is quickly approaching and in between learning there are number of ‘Christmas events’ which we would like to share with you.

All Houses will be holding their Rewards assemblies on Friday 20th December and will have the opportunity to celebrate together at their House Christmas Lunch which be in the following order:

Redgrave Christmas Lunch on Monday 16th December

Hawking Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 17th December

Malala-King Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 18th December

Rowling Christmas Lunch on Thursday 19th December

All lunches had to be pre-ordered, normal canteen service will be available for those who have not pre-booked a Christmas dinner.

On Wednesday 18th December, we have a special music concert for Year 7 pupils in the Lancastrian Hall which will start at 9.00am.

We have our Annual Christmas Carol Concert on Tuesday 17th December 2019 commencing at 7.00pm at Chichester Cathedral which all our pupils, staff, parents and community are invited.

This is a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a successful year at CHS.

Finally, on Friday 20th December the much anticipated staff panto!  Pupils will be given the opportunity to watch this spectacular in their Houses before leaving at 12.30pm. Pupils may purchase lunch/snacks during morning break only. This is a non-uniform day where we encourage pupils to wear a Christmas jumper.

As it is now dark in the evening, please could I urge parents to check that pupils have lights on bikes and are wearing helmets/visible clothing? We have recently reminded pupils of sensible cycling; the car park is a very busy place and using appropriate road safety at all times is extremely important.

The school will re-open after the Christmas break on Monday 6th January 2020 at 8.30am. Could I please ask you to re-inforce with your child that the school does not permit trainers, nose piercings, false nails and extreme haircuts i.e. below grade 2? New mobile phones/devices are best kept safe at home as is new jewellery. Please take the Christmas break as an opportunity to ensure uniform items are correct.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this term.  It has been extremely busy with numerous sports fixtures, trips, charity events and concerts to name but a few.  We are grateful for the care and the time you take to help organise your children in preparation for the aforementioned.

We hope all students will participate fully in the spirit of the day and conduct themselves in a respectful and caring manner.  At CHS we are very proud of our community and are very much looking forward to bringing our houses together to celebrate the term.

Thank you again for your support this term and hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Yours faithfully

On behalf of the Director of Behaviour and Pastoral Development, Form Tutors and Heads of Houses
