CHS at the Chichester City Remembrance Service

Four students from CHS took part in the Chichester City Civil Service which is led by the Mayor.

Year 7 students, Lulu Millen 7c, Alfie James 7c, Paige Fitzsimmons 7h and Year 11 Head Boy, George Scutt joined the School CCF Cadets, Taylor Rochester, Jasmine Godding and Bethany Ifould in laying wreaths on the War Memorial at the Litten Garden, Chichester.

City remembrance

This is a formal event where the Council are preceded by Mayor's Constables, the Mace, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Town Clerk and City Councillors.  The parents and extended family members of our students joined them to pay their respects.

Our CHS CCF Contingent was well represented at the event with over 50 cadets parading with most of the Contingent Officers.

The City’s Remembrance Parade is a hugely significant event and any one attending must have been impressed by the number of veterans, regular soldiers, cadet forces and other uniformed organisations that lined up for the March and the Service at the City’s Memorial.

Members of the public were certainly generous in the applause that they gave to those taking part.

Our CHS and CCF wreaths have, for the last twenty years, been placed at the Chichester War Memorial.

Many thanks to our students and our Chichester High School CCF Contingent, for representing the school at this very formal and respectful service.

We were very proud to be there again this year.
