A level results 2017

Chichester High School staff and students are delighted to be celebrating outstanding results which yet another improvement on last year’s grades. There were many outstanding personal performances, which has meant that many of our students will be able to take up their first choice university.

A delighted Vickie Smith (Head of Sixth Form) jumps for joy with her students above.

The large Sixth Form cohort had an overall pass rate of 100% which is higher than the national average; 50% of these students achieving being A*-B grade and 79% gaining A*-C grade.

We have one student who has had an offer confirmed at Oxford University:

Eleanor Pendle achieved A*A*A A and will be taking up her place at Brasenose College, Oxford University to read Geography.

In addition to these students our top performers who achieved A*- A across the board are:

Lauren Fulcher                        University of Manchester to read English Literature

Morgan Harper                       University of Bristol to read Anthropology

Phillipa Jeffs                            University of Portsmouth to read Creative Writing

Chloe Mulkern                        London School of Economics and Political Science to read Social Anthropology

Ackvile Peckyte                       University of Exeter to read English

Natasha Ryska-Onions            St Mary’s University to read Acting

Emily Wyatt                             University of East Anglia to read Geography

We are also very proud to have had 17 students awarded unconditional offers this year, including Kieran Beauchamp who received a scholarship. He will read Environmental Science at Aberystwyth University and Hollie Olding who has been awarded a Soccer Scholarship at the University of Kentucky; she plays her first match as a Wildcat on Friday 18th August.

AS results for our Year 12 cohort are similarly very encouraging and promise much success next year.

This has been a very stressful year for A-Level students as this is the first year of the new linear courses and it has meant that predicting achievement was very difficult. So double congratulations to them for working hard, holding their nerve and achieving some of the best results Chichester High School has seen! Thank you to the staff, students, and parents for all their support, hard work and commitment, we wish our students every success and happiness in their future.
