Alex Pendle

Alex Pendle — In October, Year 11 student, Alex Pendle was selected to play for the Wessex Leopards Under-16 side in a ‘best vs best’ hockey tournament in St Albans.

The tournament consisted of four regional English teams plus the Wales and Scotland national U16 squads. Wessex Leopards secured their place in the final beating the Caledonian Cougars 7-2 (Pendle scoring 2) and narrowly missed out in the final vs the Pennine Pumas losing 4-3 with Alex scoring a hat trick.

Alex was the Wessex Leopards’ ‘Player of the Tournament’ and was selected for the U16 England squad to attend their training camps this season, with the possibility of playing for the England U16 team vs Holland & Belgium and the Six Nations finale in July 2017.
