Your Country Needs You - Quantum Theatre

QUANTUM LOGO NEW lt The heartbreak and history of WWI brought to life by two actors in Quantum Theatre's 'Your Country Needs You'.

We were fortunate to welcome this touring Company to CHS last week.

Drawing on original source material this moving and informative play explores the politics behind the outbreak of the war through to the Battle of the Somme.

It highlights the realities of life at home and on the front, following the fate of the sixteen players from Heart of Midlothian FC as they form the ‘Football Battalion’, leaving Tynecastle for the fields of Northern France.
Interweaving songs, sketches, poetry and prose the play examines the effects of war on those directly involved.

Between them, Daniel Waterhouse and Callum James play 22 roles in the hour-long performance of Michael Whitmore's new play incorporating songs, verse, sketches and vignettes.
