Chichester High School held its annual Remembrance Service on Friday 9th November 2018.

Students in Year 7 and student members of the School’s Combined Cadet Force joined in silence to remember our fallen heroes.  Ms Maskatiya led the service with a poignant speech about the importance of Remembrance.

This was followed by CHS student Alan reading ‘In Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae and Willow reading ‘The Soldier’ by Rupert Brook.

We are thankful to Mr Craig Younger-Sword who played the Last Post for us this year.

As we observed the two-minute silence, the names of our fallen Chichester High School students, featured on our school memorial plaque, were read out by Head Girl Rose and Deputies Saffron and Alex, highlighting those former students who had made the ultimate sacrifice for us all.

The School Combined Cadet Force banner party led the way as CCF cadets and our Head Boy, Josh laid wreaths, on behalf of the School and Old Boys, in the school hall.

Praise must also be given to the band – they played extremely well, with our superb pianist, Henry Lansley, rising to the challenge of playing a piano solo, The Hymn to the Fallen.
