CHS Art with South Bersted Primary School

On Wednesday 11th July, 30 Year 2 students from South Bersted Primary School came to visit Chichester High School for an Art workshop, in order to assist with their current topic of ‘The Secret Garden’.

We tailored the activities around the creatures and animals that you might find in a garden, and as such decided upon butterflies, caterpillars, and insects as our theme. We wanted the students to experience as many different activities as they could within a short space of time, so had 4 different tasks for them to complete; including press printing, embellishment of butterflies, 3D modeling of creatures and the decoration of a large scale 3D willow sculpture.

The students were an absolute credit to their school and had a lovely day as confirmed by their teacher Claire White: “The children had the most amazing time and really enjoyed the activities. I was also blown away by the obvious talent your students have when looking around at the Art on display.  It certainly inspired some of my children.”

We look forward to working with South Bersted again on future Art and Design activities!
