Yr8 march into the quarter finals

The Year 8 Football team marched into the quarterfinals of the County Cup Shield yesterday with a convincing 5 – 0 victory against St.Pauls Catholic College, Burgess Hill.

Use 1

After a long drive to Burgess Hill the lads were itching to get out onto the pitch and get started. However, we were greeted with a number of teachers rushing out to meet us with numerous questions about who we were and why we were in their school.
As it transpired they were running a ‘lockdown’ drill and we were held in the sports hall for a while until they were ready to get going.

With the excitement of the ‘lockdown’ over it was time to get going. We started fast and got straight into our attacking, passing style of play and it wasn’t long before we launched a wave of attacks on the St Paul’s goal. Their goalkeeper was in fine form and we had to wait until just before half time before we made the breakthrough, Ollie Barry converting a Terriq Osman cross after some great link play between Jack Hinshelwwod and Terriq.

CHS continued to pass the ball well and created more chances in the 2nd half. The 2nd goal came soon after half time from Kieran Jones with a fantastic finish from a Jack Hinshelwood pass. It was one way traffic after that and further great goals from Ollie Barry, Jack Hinshelwood and Terriq Osman rounded off a fine performance. As always the lads represented their school with impeccable behavior and maximum effort.

Congratulations to; Ethan Galea, Ollie Barry, Joe Masters, Alfie Cullum-Charles, Ollie Broughton, Freddie Phillips, Toby Hughes, Jack Hinshelwood, Dan Hubble, Terriq Osman, Kieran Jones, Zac Ungermand, Cobi Armah-White, Alfie Netley-Harris.
